Imagination is only the first step...
It's time to get your dream on paper!
It's time to get your dream on paper!
As a 20+ year veteran of the Green Industry, I have always had a passion for transforming outdoor spaces. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working for some great contractors on amazing projects with passionate homeowners. There were some MAJOR disconnects in that process however.
Contractors have a business to run and homeowners have a vision to protect. As a result, the process and finished product are rarely enjoyable to both parties. Simply put Contractors don't always speak Homeowner and vice-versa.
I started my freelance landscape design business to bridge the gap between the contractor and homeowner. I create well thought-out designs that realize the homeowners vision and that contractors can easily install.
At 15, I started working at a local garden center after school and on weekends. This first, part-time job ignited a passion for plants, landscaping, learning, and design that is still going strong to this day. Along with many years of hands on experience, I have also been personally trained by some of the top designers in the industry. I have held certifications for many years through the Ohio Landscape Association, Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute, National Concrete and Masonry Association, and was a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers. I have taught design seminars, won awards for my designs, and (most importantly) have always been a huge plant nerd.
Whether you are a contractor, first time home owner, DIYer, or experienced gardener looking to give your home a refresh, I am committed to leveraging my years of experience to visualize your ideas and providing you with a honest, economical, and timely solution.
I am able to provide my clients with scaled CAD planting plans, 3D renders, movie walkthroughs, interior renders, and material takeoffs. I am also able to assist with permit drafting and submissions.
Wanting to install the plan yourself? I am able to procure the plant material at contractor pricing for my clients and have it delivered to their door!
I charge a $75 consultation fee to meet with you initially to get measurements and pictures of the house and existing landscape.
Then I charge $50 per hour for plans and 3D renders. A basic scaled CAD overhead plan will probably take me between 5-6 hours unless it is very complex, and 3D renders are usually another 4 hours if you wanted them as well (again depending on complexity).
Once I get a feel for the scope on the initial consultation, I am typically able to ballpark you an estimate for total time so you aren’t blindsided.
My turnaround time can vary depending on the time of the year. You can typically expect a 2-3 week turnaround during the peak spring season and as quick as 1 week during the slower winter months. I will be able to give you a better timeframe during the initial meeting and if you have a particular deadline you are trying to meet I will do my best to meet it!
During the initial meeting, I will talk with you about your goals, favorite plants, how you want to use the space, etc. If you have any pictures, ideas, likes/dislikes, please share them! Landscape design is collaborative and I want the finished product to reflect you and what makes you happy! There are no crazy ideas and I may have a few out of the box concepts as well! Before I leave the initial meeting, I will give you a better idea on the total amount of time the design it will take me as well as the expected timeframe it will take me to finish it. I will also take any measurements, elevations, and pictures I need to complete the design.
When the design is completed, I will set up a time to meet with you and go over the finished product. You can expect to receive a physical copy of the plan and a photobook of any 3D renders. I will also include a QR code on the plan that will take you to a digital album where you can view and share all the designs.
If any revisions are needed after the proposal meeting, I can email a revised plan set or set up another meeting to go over the changes.
There are a few directions we can go!
I have good working relationships with local contractors and can engage them on your behalf for a quote to execute the proposed plans, or if you have a preferred contractor you have worked with in the past, I can bring them up to speed on the project.
If you are a DIYer and love to play in the dirt, I can walk you through the best place to source the materials, as well as walk you through a general breakdown of how to bring the design to life. Recently, I formed a new partnership that allows me to have all the plants delivered to my clients at contractor pricing, which allows them to pay a fraction of the cost if purchased at a typical garden center. There are some aspects of the design that may require heavy equipment or a high level of expertise to install and I will strongly suggest what parts of the design should be left to a professional contractor. (Any discussions of a DIY install are for informational purposes only and I cant be held responsible for work performed.)
Absolutely! I have done design work for out-of-state clients and can still provide you with the same level of service as my clients here in Ohio! Don't hesitate to reach out regardless of where you are located!
